DAY: Drive to DELPHI through LEVADIA and ARACHOVA.
Upon arrival visit the archaeological site and the
Museum. The rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and
overnight in DELPHI. (D.) 2nd DAY: Morning at leisure. Drive by the Central Greece towns of AMPHISSA, LAMIA and TRIKALA to arrive in KALAMBAKA. Overnight. (B.D.) 3rd DAY: In the morning visit the breathtaking METEORA and then start the drive back to ATHENS, passing through THERMOPYLAE, the spot where Leonidas and his 300 Spartans heroically held off a vast Persian army. Not surprisingly, Leonidas and company lost but they slowed the Persians down enough so those in Athens could make preparations. Arrival in Athens +/- 19.00 (B.) |
